Combine rich layers of alpha transparency textures with the game's still beautiful bokeh depth of field implementation, and even with a top-end Titan X Pascal, you'll still see frame-rates dip beneath 30 frames per second. Whether it's a driver problem, or simply the concept of running a game never designed for operating at extreme resolutions, the fact is that running the PC version of The Witcher 2 at max settings on a 4K screen is surprisingly onerous to say the least. ![]() So with that remarkable port now upgraded for Microsoft's latest console, how does it look running on 4K displays? And how does the PC original hold up running at an equivalent ultra HD resolution, almost seven years on from its initial release? The port had many cutbacks, of course, but in some respects, I thought it actually improved on its counterpart. The 360 release wasn't just a port, it was a top-to-bottom revamp of a PC original specifically built for the strengths of a far more capable platform. I was particularly keen to check this one out because CD Projekt Red's 360 conversion effort was absolutely outstanding and with its arrival on the X, you might describe it as one technological miracle layered on top of another. Hope this helps.Microsoft's Xbox One X enhanced programme for classic Xbox 360 games recently added support for a very special last-gen release: The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings. Obvioulsy this is a great way to make money & you gain xp as well. I was making over 1000 per trip, so you'll have the Miser achievement in no time. (I sold to the guy who sells the dragon armor). ![]() When you have all that you can carry, go back to Vergen's market by the gate and sell the loot to whomever you want. When you are done, pick up the loot go back to the top by the hut select wait time till many hours later and they should respawn, repeat the slaugter. Continue down the path below into the quarry and fight all Harpies that you encounter. There is a hut with a guy who asks you to bring him Harpy feathers but you won't be selling him those feathers during this process. What you want to do now is get to the old quarry. Once you get to Chapter 2, continue on with the story until you are able to go outside the gates. It is a variation of Wyndo's solution so partial credit goes to him. This solution is for whomever is going on Iorveth's path, on normal difficulty. Just remember to save periodically just in case. This is also a good way to get the Butcher of Blavhakin (sp?) achievement. ![]() I didn't try this, but this might go twice as fast with the Harvester ability. ![]() They're light-weight, so you can really stock up before making the trip back. Take the stuff back to the Dwarf in the camp (back the way you came) and sell all the loot - cloth, etc, but especially the Harpy ingredients. If you're playing on a lower difficulty, equipment probably won't even matter much. I found it pretty simple even on Dark difficulty, although I've got a Red Meteorite sword and some great armor to help. The Harpies keep respawning, so you can collect crafting components from them each time. Deal with them, go back up the path (or into the circle of candles by the cabin door, either one), then back, and repeat. In Chapter 2, in the "Visionary" quest, you'll come to the visionary's hut. I don't know for sure if the quest or area is available on the Iorveth path, but if I find out that it is, I'll update the guide. I found this mentioned on another Achievements forum, and it seems to work really well.ĭisclaimer: I did this on the Roche path.
